About the Role
As a Podiatrist, you will provide expert care and management for patients referred to the podiatry service, focusing on those considered at risk. You’ll work across various settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation wards, mental health facilities, and community locations, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care. This role offers a diverse range of challenges that will keep you engaged and inspired.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Expertise: Assess, diagnose, and manage at-risk patients with a range of podiatric needs, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Documentation: Maintain secure and accurate electronic and paper-based clinical records in line with healthcare policies.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in training, education, and personal development to maintain professional standards and enhance clinical practice.
- Collaborative Work: Work across multiple locations, including Jersey General Hospital, diabetic foot clinics, and rehabilitation wards. Provide domiciliary care when required.
- Infection Control: Adhere to infection control policies, ensuring safe and effective clinical practices.
- Patient Safety: Support the organization in safeguarding service users, protecting them from abuse, and respecting their human rights.
- Education and Training: Contribute to the training of podiatry students, staff, and volunteers, participating in in-service training initiatives.
- Service Development: Plan, evaluate, and audit clinical practices, pathways, and protocols in collaboration with senior staff to meet service standards and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: Degree-level qualification (BSc in Podiatry).
- Registration: HCPC registration and membership with the Royal College of Podiatry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of clinical governance, infection control, and health and safety regulations.
- Expertise: Up-to-date knowledge of wound healing, dressings, and relevant clinical guidelines.
- Skills: Excellent communication, health promotion, and education skills, with a collaborative and patient-centered approach.
